* Minnesota Reciprocity: Students from Minnesota must be approved for reciprocity by the state of Minnesota in order to qualify for this tuition rate.
** Non-Resident includes all other states and includes these special populations:
- Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE): Students from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming are charged 150% of the resident rate for participating in the Western Undergraduate Exchange.
- Adjacent States (AS): Students from Iowa and Nebraska that were new to the SD BOR system after the Spring 2001 semester are charged 150% of the resident rate.
- Child of Alumni (COA): Tuition rate is 150% of the resident rate, and applies to non-resident students whose parent(s) graduated from a SD BOR school.
